| ABSTRACT:
Age-related retinal disease, comprising age-related maculopathy and age-related macular degeneration is the leading cause of blindness and visual disability in aging Western societies, but there are ongoing clinical trials aimed at prevention and treatment. As primary eye-care providers, we can advise patients on diet and lifestyle factors that may reduce the risk of developing AMD and keep them informed about treatments that may preserve their vision. |
