TITLE: Treating Pain and Inflammation Using Oral Medications

ABSTRACT: Adequate evaluation and treatment of pain has become an area of intense interest on a national level. It is important that optometrists carefully assess patients for pain and treat appropriately. By the end of this course, the participant will be able to answer questions regarding the increased emphasis on pain management, pain assessment techniques, the risks, benefits, alternatives to NSAID use, and the use of narcotic analgesics in clinical care.
