A 23-year-old Caucasian man presented with a two- week history of a red, painful, and photophobic left eye unresponsive to Polysporin. He described having had similar episodes as a child, which resolved on their own. Over the past few years, he had been treated several times by an ophthalmologist for what he described as "eye ulcers." He was otherwise healthy and took oral tetracycline for acne.
