| TITLE:
A Course on Keratoconus |
| ABSTRACT:
Keratoconus can be defined as a progressive, non-inflammatory conical deformity of the cornea. The condition is characterized by corneal thinning and protrusion resulting in corneal distortion and decreased vision. Although most cases tend to be sporadic, studies indicate that the likelihood of a blood relative having keratoconus is as high as ten percent. The incidence of the disease is relatively low and it occurs in all ethnic groups and has a slight male predominance. |
