ABSTRACT: You will be presented with a case of a patient who awakens with a red eye and has no pain or visual changes. The differential diagnosis of red eye will be covered in addition to an evidence-based review. In addition, our statistical pearl of the month discussed the difference between incidence and prevalence of disease. A 57-year-old man complains of awakening with a red eye. There is no trauma to the eye, and the patient does not have any pain or visual change. He had a cataract extraction 2 years ago.  Author(s): Sanjay Sharma, MD, MS, FRCS
