ABSTRACT:
Stargardt's disease or maculopathy can be undetected or misdiagnosed in its early stages. A common early misperception is a suspicion of hysterical amblyopia. Electrodiagnostic tests can assist the eye care practitioner in ruling the more serious maculopathy out before assuming any form of amblyopia. A clinically appropriate presentation of Stargardt's disease is covered accompanying a review of electrodiagnostic testing.
