TITLE:  Dry Eye Syndrome: Advances and Treatment Strategies

ABSTRACT: It has become common knowledge in the eye care community that Dry Eye Syndrome (DES) has affected millions of Americans. While it seems like a simple problem to resolve, it has become more of a "moving target" with numerous but no simple solutions. Often times a resolution can come with the appropriate questioning of the patient regarding causal influences. This course will review the theories of DES and review some of the more conventional treatments, as well as some newer unconventional treatments that might resolve this condition. This course will emphasize the practical aspects of treatment for this condition.
