| ABSTRACT:
In the United States, antimalarial drugs such as Plaquenil (hydrochloroquine) are used primarily for their anti-inflammatory effects in the treatment of auto-immune conditions (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, lupus). It is estimated that approximately 3% of patients taking Plaquenil develop toxicity. The case presented involves a patient taking Plaquenil who did not show signs of Bull's eye maculopathy but who did exhibit abnormal ancillary test results. |
