| TITLE:
HIV and Contact Lenses: What You Need to Know |
| ABSTRACT:
No matter where you practice or what clinical environment you practice in, it is very likely that you are examining patients infected with the human immunodeficiency virus [HIV). As a result, it is crucial that eye care practitioners understand the "best practices" in preparing to care for this patient population. With an increasing number of HIV-infected persons living longer and healthier lives, the likelihood of caring for HIV-infected patients in a contact lens practice will most likely increase.
This module, presented by a noted clinician and educator in this field, will review the current level of knowledge and outline key processes and procedures to protect both patients and practitioners and minimize any misconceptions regarding the clinical management of patients with the HIV Infection. |
