TITLE:  Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis Related to the Wear of a Hybrid Contact Lens

ABSTRACT: This course discusses a case of giant papillary conjunctivitis diagnosed in a young female student who had previously experienced an ocular trauma in one eye. The course focuses on the consideration and trial of a wide variety of contact lenses to remedy this patient’s visual acuity and other vision problems, and the final choice of a hybrid lens. It reviews the characteristics of these and other lenses, the examinations and clinical findings, and nature of giant papillary conjunctivitis secondary to contact lens wear. Finally, the management plan in this case is presented.
