TITLE:  Update on Thyroid Eye Disease

ABSTRACT: This course discusses thyroid-related ophthalmopathy or Graves’ ophthalmopathy. It reviews its prevalence, risk factors, etiology, differential diagnosis, clinical signs and symptoms, and classification of the condition in terms of ocular signs. It also addresses various associated diseases such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. The course presents a detailed discussion of diagnosis of Graves’ disease and orbital involvement, in addition to imaging techniques commonly used. Ocular therapies, including pharmaceutical agents, spectacles and surgical intervention are also reviewed.
