| ABSTRACT:
This course presents a case of cataracts in a woman age 60, who has been a contact lens wearer for more than 30 years. It discusses the various eye examinations and tests performed with a view toward diagnosis, in this case, development of cataracts in the early stages. The course highlights the importance of optometrists considering and proposing ocular surgery to their contact lens patients in general, more specifically cataract and refractive surgery, even in the case of asymptomatic patients. Finally, the course presents the surgery performed, the contact lenses employed, and the positive resolution of this case. |
