This course discusses cognitive error bias as an important element in the diagnosis of disease, as well as the essential nature of cognitive decision-making as a key part of medical education. The author’s text underscores the need for further exploration to help reduce cognitive diagnostic errors in ophthalmology and other fields of medicine. A Case Report of a 50-year-old African American female, diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa sans pigmentosa is presented. |
