This course discusses acute retinal necrosis (ARN); including its prevalence; etiologies; clinical signs and symptoms; and differential diagnosis. In addition, the authors present information on the progression and complications of ARN, specifically, retinal detachment and breaks, ischemic optic neuropathy and central retinal artery occlusion. A Case Report is presented, which also review appropriate treatment.
