| ABSTRACT:
This course discusses optimal vision as a combination of visual acuity, visual comfort, and long-term vision protection, specifically in the context of photochromic lenses and antireflective coating. The author discusses a number of key elements that contribute to, and detract from, optimal vision, such as: the impact of light; various types of glare and their effect on optimal vision; and the impact of photochromic lenses and antireflective coating. The benefits of photochromic lenses and antireflective coating are presented. The results of the author’s 2004 study to determine how patients’ quality of vision improved using these two enhancements are presented and reviewed. |
