| ABSTRACT:
This course discusses the benefits of peripheral fundus examination using binocular indirect ophthalmoscopy and complementary alternate assessment with non-contact lens biomicroscopy. The role of non-contact lens biomicroscopy in diagnosis is reviewed. Five types of peripheral retinal lesions that may predispose patients to rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) are discussed in detail. Pathophysiology and current management concepts of these retinal conditions are presented. |
