| ABSTRACT:
A systematic approach is essential when caring for patients with soft contact lens pathology. Eight major problem areas are emphasized. The "practical approach" is stressed, with topics including: improper lens care and infections; patient factors affecting successful lens wear; improper lens fit; lens deposits; solution allergies; sterile infiltrates; and GPC. The diagnosis and treatment of difficult corneal infections associated with contact lenses such as Pseudomonas. Acanthamoeba and fungal keratitis are also discussed. |
