| ABSTRACT:
Background: It has been demonstrated that differences in cup-to-disc ratios exist between individuals of different racial groups. These differences are important for eye-care practitioners to consider in ascertaining the potential risks of developing blinding diseases such as glaucoma. The Heidelberg Retinal Tomograph (HRT) II is a scanning laser ophthalmoscope that is able to accurately measure several optic nerve head parameters in a matter of seconds. The instrument programming allows a comparison of the measured optic nerve parameters to a normative sample group. |
