| ABSTRACT:
Diabetic retinopathy is one of the most common ocular manifestations of a systemic disease encountered in primary-care optometry. However, diabetic retinopathy is but one of the debilitating ocular sequelae that affects diabetic patients. As optometric scope of practice expands and O.D.s increasingly become part of the patient's health-care team, they must remain aware of the mechanisms behind the systemic and ocular manifestations of diabetes. |
